Of a life nearly paid.


And I fought for the right words

But they just wouldn’t come

My mind just kept repeating

Fatherless son



And he said, “come take a seat boy”

As he reached for my hand.

“I’ve been lucky enough to watch you

As a boy became man

So this must be said,

How good life can be.

I often look back and wonder,

If I’ve given my best,

Did I take those words he said to me

And put life to the test

Or have I fought for the right things,

Was it worth all the pain,

Will the crowds that I’ve lived for

Remember my name?



And then I look at our creation,
